Owner Lennie Joseph has always loved barbering. He previously operated a barbershop in 2015, but his business partnership did not work out, forcing him to start working a 9 to 5 job.
“Back in 2015 I was a barber; I had my own barbershop. I had a business partner but he was not serious, so, I left and went into a permanent job in the hotel industry. I eventually joined the fire service but I still had a love for barbering. Covid hit and I realized that people were struggling to get their hair cut because barbershops were closed as they were not considered as essential services and people could not go out, so I decided to go to them and offer my services at their homes.”
Pull Up Cutz, designed to fit today’s on-demand lifestyle, offers a remarkably easy way to experience a haircut catering to making men look and feel fresh. They cut hair for all ages including young men.
“I do house calls and you can also find me at Bal’s Barbershop in Soufriere where I cut hair on my off days. In the future, I would like to invest more in my mobile barbering business. Get another vehicle, a mobile barbering chair to give my clients a more luxurious experience. I would also like to expand my customer base.”
Joseph urges people who want to start a business to find a passion that they enjoy.
“You have to find what you have a passion for because if you don’t like what you do, especially if you’re doing business on your own, you won’t do it for very long. So, it has to be something that you really love doing that will give you the drive to continue. Also find something that you are good at and don’t be afraid to invest in yourself.”
